Mike Ballard

Mike is a sought-after strategic thinker with extensive experience in corporate strategy and financial management. Working throughout the west, he has served as CEO, COO and CFO of angel- and venture-funded companies and been a board member of start-up companies, a bank, a top-25 MBA school, and many community groups. In 2010, Mike was named one of the “Top 20 Visionaries” in Nevada by Nevada Business magazine and was also named one of the most ethical people in the communications industry by Investor Business Daily.

Mike is a Gazelles Certified Executive Coach, one of less than 200 in the world. Through “Mastering the Rockefeller Habits™,” he helps executives adopt the entrepreneurial best practices.  Regularly these clients enjoy revenue growth of 25%+ annually and, typically, twice industry average profitability, which is the Gazelle category of the economy.

He has nearly 30 years’ experience in technology, telecommunications, finance, professional services, real estate and construction.

 

Joseph Gallagher

Joseph Gallagher is a senior financial executive with three decades of experience. Prior to Ballard Consulting, Joseph has held senior roles at Cobalt Data Centers, Marnell Companies, Station Casinos and the Las Vegas Sands corporation. In his more than 15 years in construction management, he has been responsible for more than $1 billion in construction projects.

As Chief Financial Officer of Cobalt Data Centers, Joseph was responsible for the overall financial affairs of the company, including managing cash flows, capital expenditures, finances and budgetary procedures. He was also responsible for the preparation of internal financial statements and external reporting.

Prior to the opening, Joseph was Project Manager for the construction of the Cobalt Cheyenne Data Center. He oversaw the design and construction teams and directed their activities with an eye toward project budget and schedule. Through a combination of regular Owner-Architect-Contractor formal meetings and frequent in-the-field observations Joseph was able to keep the project on track while updating the plans and budgets to account for changes as they were required. Joseph approved or denied Change Order Requests in a timely manner and with clear communication to ensure the design and construction teams were all working toward the common goal. All parties considered the construction project a resounding success.

Prior to that, Joseph spent five years as a senior financial executive for the Marnell Companies, one of the leading construction and architecture firms in the U.S. Marnell is best known for its Las Vegas Strip resort work, including Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Wynn Las Vegas, The Mirage, Treasure Island and the M Resort.

Prior to that, Joseph was Director of Construction Finance for Station Casinos where he was the chief construction financial officer during the design and construction of Green Valley Ranch Resort and Thunder Valley Casino as well as numerous expansions, renovations and remodels.

Joseph has also held senior roles in the financial departments of the Sands Hotel and Casino and Sands Expo & Convention Center.

Adam Larck

Adam Larck is a public relations writer and editor at Ballard Consulting.

Prior to working for the company, Adam worked as an editor for the websites GotGame and 411Mania, and for the Morton Times-News. During his time as editor, he wrote news stories, coordinated with public relations companies, managed social media accounts and worked with businesses to cover their events and new information as it became available. Adam also worked with organizations at college as a media relations specialist to promote events for residence halls.

Adam is a journalism graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, with a concentration in reporting and a minor in management information systems. As an undergraduate, he was a copy editor, online editor and reporter for his college newspaper, The Daily Eastern News, president and publicity chair of the Douglas Hall residence hall and on the executive board for the Eastern Illinois chapter of the Society of Collegiate Journalists.
